Stone Description: "Impression Jasper which was formerly referred to as variscite was first described in 1837 and named for the locality of Variscia, the ancient Latin name for Vogtland in Germany.  Naturally, the stone comes in a creamy, beige, sand, or tan color, with splashes of a muted opaque baby blue peeking through, but it has also been known to be dyed leaving interesting webbed voids where the dye is not absorbed.
